Why We Do It

In 1994 the Florida Legislature enacted Florida Statute 1003-42 requiring public school instruction of the watershed event in the history of humanity: the Holocaust. inSIGHT is dedicated to providing educational grants for teachers K-12 to fulfill this Mandate.

Our Previous Grants

Learner Fellows:

 An annual workshop led by the JFR in New York City.  inSIGHT is a Center of Excellence. Teachers are trained and become part of a cadre of teachers throughout the country and world.

Field Study Trip to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.

Twenty high school juniors, authors of award-winning essays, explained their interest in the Holocaust: what they learn provides knowledge needed to become future upstanders and mentors for other students,

S*T*A*R Series:

Production of “Etty,” a production  planned for 4,000 students, grades 6-812 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Using only Etty Hillesum’s words from her diaries and letters, this play reveals the inner change in a young Jewish woman during the Holocaust.

Child Survivors, Hidden Children of the Holocaust:

Funds for travel, printing, and educational supplies enabling the members of the speakers’ bureau to engage with students in eight counties.
